LeftField was selected as the OPM for Billerica, Massachusetts’ Pinehurst Fire Station. The new fire station includes a decontamination area for emergencies involving hazardous materials, a walk-in medical services room and several training facilities. The new buildings include integrated daylighting systems driving a combination of sunshades, light shelves and rooftop light monitors to provide daylight deep into building areas, greatly reducing electrical usage and helping the project meet its sustainable goals.

The Fire Station, which was constructed on the site of the existing Fire Station, operates 24 hours a day so during construction the Firefighters and their fire apparatus were relocated to a temporary location.
